CVIIC Participates in Equity on the Mall 2019

CVIIC Participates in Equity on the Mall 2019: As in past years, the Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) will participate in the annual Equity on the Mall in Sacramento. The event is organized by the San Joaquin Valley Health Fund (SJVHF) and involves the participation of numerous organizations and community members. A primary objective of the event is to bring attention in Sacramento to the policy issues that are relevant to Central Valley communities and residents.

Equity on the Mall has been a popular event each year, permitting residents from throughout the Central Valley to raise matters of importance, including immigrant rights, health access, housing, land use, water quality, educational opportunities, and many other related topics. Each year, the event has grown and drawn the involvement as well of key policymakers and elected officials.

The San Joaquin Valley Health Fund describes the Equity on the Mall event in the following terms:

Equity on the Mall is an annual day of democracy in action to close the divide between the San Joaquin Valley residents and policymakers. Organized by the San Joaquin Valley Health Fund, The Center at Sierra Health Foundation and community partners, Equity on the Mall includes a powerful program at the west steps of the Capitol with remarks by elected representatives and community leaders, music, spoken word and an equity platform on some of the most pressing issues impacting communities in the San Joaquin Valley. The Valley is Rising!

CVIIC will lead a bus of Fresno residents. Transportation is free of charge but registration is required. To register, please click here.

Numerous buses will be departing from Fresno and other cities, allowing community members to choose from one closer to their place of residence.
