CVIIC’s goals and priorities focus on empowering Central Valley immigrant families AND immigrant serving organizations.
Immigrant families constitute a valuable element of the Central Valley society, polity, culture, and economy.
Our immigrant serving partner organizations uphold inclusiveness and public service.
CVIIC works with a network of partner organizations, including nonprofit immigration legal services agencies and pro bono attorneys, to provide access to legal assistance via workshops organized in rural and urban communities throughout the Central Valley.
CVIIC empowers immigrant families by offering free entrepreneurship and digital literacy trainings to promote their skills upgrading and small business development.
In 2020 CVIIC created its Immigrant Entrepreneurship Program to offer free Spanish language trainings. Since then, hundreds of Central Valley residents have completed our courses.
CVIIC currently offers in-person entrepreneurship and digital literacy trainings in 4 counties: Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings. Virtual entrepreneurship courses are offered via Zoom to residents in the 8 San Joaquin Valley counties. Through Santa Clara University’s MOBI program, we provide access to an online learning platform to residents in other parts of the nation.
CVIIC and partner organizations engage in advocacy campaigns to protect and defend the rights of immigrants. We believe in an inclusive democracy.
California's Central Valley has been a region with limited capacity to make legal assistance accesible to the more than 900,000 immigrants residing here. CVIIC and partner organizations have worked to strengthen this capacity.
Due to the characteristics of the regional economy, there are limited opportunities for socio-economic mobility. CVIIC offers free training opportunities to enable immigrants to acquire skills and explore entrepreneurship opportunities.
Our democracy is strengthened by an active citizenry. CVIIC promotes the naturalization of eligibile immigrants, voter registration, and voter participation. As a nonprofit agency, CVIIC does not endorse parties or candidates.
Immigrants in the Central Valley and elsewhere are essential to our economy, society, and culture. As a society, we are also better off if access to health services is inclusive and made accessible to our immigrant families.
To serve the more than 900,000 immigrants in the Central Valley, CVIIC and partner organizations have learned that our impact is greater and more effective if we leverage our resources and coordinate efforts. Our regional network of partners includes scores of nonprofit, public, and private sector agencies.
